The spine has been repaired adding a new covering that overlaps the boards for approximately 50 mm. The leather reinforcing is formed by two layers projecting beyond the endbands (5 mm) at the head and tail of the bookblock. The first layer
covers the cap area. This folded piece of leather is used to sew the endband so that the stitches are not visible on the spine. The layer has extensions that are pasted down under the original turn-ins. The second layer is the actual covering of the spine.
It is sewn to the first layer at head and tail caps. Its extensions are pasted down directly above the original turn-ins.

The book is preserved in its richly blind-tooled leather case. It is composed by two parts. The inner case is colored in violet with a light brown border stitched to the flap with a green sewing thread.
Every surface is decorated with a pattern that recalls the one of the book cover, using the same tools (quadruple straight lines, palm shape, double circles, rosette).
New tools are found: a rosette of bigger dimension, a <term key="VForm">V-form</term>, and <term key="wavyLine">wavy lines</term> put near to each other in order to form an interlaced band.
To the inner case is attached a leather carrying strap, fixed at the bottom with a leather knot. The strap is decorated with <term key="singleStraightLine">single straight lines</term>.
The outer envelope is of dark brown leather decorated with motifs that reproduce the latin cross and the floral pattern found on the book cover. The same tools have been used
(quadruple straight lines, palm shape, double circles, criss-cross, X-shape, rosettes and corniform motifs).
Above the outer evelope is fixed a knot of rolled leather. A strip of light brown leather is looped around the lower border of the outer leather case.
On the surface, three additional leater straps are decorated with inserts of white, light brown, red leather that form 5 crosses.
To these straps are attached long leather fringes, today partly lost. The one in better condition is formed by four leather fringes 400 mm long.
