Variants:

  • As an easily-accessible-without-msvc build option
  • As an in-game option (FOSS has different standards for in-game options from a pure consumer market)

This should help a lot with #15 and likes.

More than the -verbose launch flag, I'm suspecting you mean?

Probably even more verbose, because even this flag yields nothing when trying to fight #15
Also it would be nice to include a mention of -verbose to README.md or CONTRIBUTING.md
Need to note that not all things can be diagnosed in a release build, so a buildflag is inherently better.
