Renaming an old folder causes all notes inside to vanish #538
Comments
You are using BoostNote.next. (This is the repo for Boostnote Legacy.) So I'll be moving this issue. |
@LauraWartschinski Did you perhaps insert a special character, like If you don't have any special characters in the folder name, could you give us the folder name? Then we try reproducing it with that. |
the notes are still listed under 'All Notes'. |
I have exactly the same issue on the desktop version. Renamed a folder, now the files are nowhere to be found. |
Can you provide version you are using, you should use last/latest version since there was one bugfix for renaming folders fixed (special characters at end/start), can you provide rename folder names (from and to what name) as well as example of how to reproduce it in latest version? Of course, always have backup (or have it setup automatically outside of boostnote.next) |
Closed because of inactivity. I couldn't reproduce this issue anymore. |
Current behavior
I tried to rename an old and full folder with many subfolders and notes inside. The subfolders were kept, but they are all empty now, and all notes are gone.
On my phone, where I turned off WLAN and mobile data to prevent a sync from happening, the notes are still there.
Expected behavior
Rename a folder without loosing all data.
Steps to reproduce
It doesn't happen always when I rename folders, so it's unclear for me how this could be reproduced, sorry!
