Brightside came into being because some of the contributors wanted to be able to use the Brighter approach on Python, but could not find anything similar. We achieved that goal with a tool that could easily interop with Brighter.

Over time the contributors to Brightside have moved to other priorities and Brightside has fallen behind Brighter. To continue to mirror the functionality on Brighter into Brightside would take effort, that we would prefer to spend on improving Brighter and Darker. We have lots of ideas for improving those products, and trying to keep this project in parallel is beyond us.

At the same time, Brighter style projects have emerged in the Python community, such as Banshee: https://github.com/artisanofcode/python-banshee which may be a better place for Python efforts.

So for that reason we have chosen to archive this repository, and focus our efforts on Brighter and Darker
