The doc does not indicate how the auth is passed in the notifications request

The documentation does not indicate how the "auth" param is passed in the request. Also, it seems like the auth param is passed in different ways depending if it's the initial POST request (passed in the content) or if it's a POST request triggered by the push route (passed as a url parameter).
