Happy new year y'all!
To kickstart 2023, we have a new release and some exciting features to tell you about:
New side panel (total CRUD in 1 screen)
You can now view records in a side panel. What's also super cool is you can continue to navigate records whilst the side panel is active. This reduces the number of screens you have to use and creates a smooth and faster experience for end-users.
Sample data for quick onboarding
When creating apps with Budibase, you can now choose if you would like to add a sample database. This will make it easier and faster to get started and should improve onboarding. On top of that, when designing, Budibase will select a datasource by default - once again, making the dev process faster and more intuitive. And to top it off, the form block will now render fields by default - providing you with a fully-working form right off the bat 👌.
Skeleton loading states
When loading data components, end users will now see skeleton loading states. We feel this is a huge improvement on the loading spinner.
Row explorer block
The row explorer block displays a list of records and allows users to navigate and explore record details without opening separate screens.
🚀 Stability and performance improvements
To close off 2022, we wanted to improve the stability of Budibase. Over the past 2 months, we've closed a number of issues and made a number of performance improvements that should spark some joy.
Additional new improvements
🚅 Context improvements that will lead to less memory used and performance improvements.
💪 We've moved to Typescript, which will improve the stability of Budibase.
🛡️ Our helm chart now supports GLOBAL_AGENT_* variables, allowing direct configuration in values.yaml for companies behind a corporate proxy.
Once again, happy new year,
Budibase Team
