Currently, it appears some of the Rnssp templates only allow geographic filtering by Site="" . Washington recently held our local Community of Practice where we highlighted the "Text Analysis Interactive Dashboard" as potential exploratory data tool for syndrome development/evaluation. Some local health departments noted however that they are not easily able to use Rnssp templates focusing in on their local data as the only filtering available is Site="Washington" in the Knit with Parameters menu.

I have been able to implement a workaround for this issue using a Data Details API Query filtered to the specific Hospital_Region of interest for the "Text Analysis Interactive Dashboard", however it seems unlikely this workaround would be able to be implemented for other Rnssp templates.

Happy to discuss this further, just wanted to elevate expressed local interest and barriers to using these awesome syndromic tools!

Good suggestion and something we will start to investigate adding to templates to make this a little more intuitive. Some templates will allow you currently to include an API URL from ESSENCE that the user can specify to whatever level of granularity they like (e.g., county, facility, etc), but that requires getting the API from the system.
