I recently used this function on a line graph and had several of the end labels overlapping. When I tried to use the argument position = position_jitter() or position_dodge() to account for this, it did not work. If this function within cmapplot can be adjusted to allow for this argument, I think that would be helpful!

@jmaltman it looks like the original code did not actually do anything with your position calls. In the branch I just linked, I have addressed that. However, I'm not sure that it will really address the concern here in most cases - the nudge commands remain the recommended tool. But this was a bug, and we should fix it!
