I am unable to save the file. I have tried saving the file multiple times, but it does not show any window for selecting the folder to save the file (normally what will we see in windows or mac).instead of that nothing is showing

is there any fix for this?

wine version wine-8.0.1
ubuntu version Ubuntu 22.04.2

have you tried the instructions here?
https://github.com/CSMarckitus/Photoshop#important-things-during-the-installation

do note that this separates the layers into their own separate files (which is a hassle for me when i want to save it as a .psd file), and this will not work if you only have a single layer on your project. i found a "fix" if you want to export the project as a single file using this method:

  1. convert all the layers into a single smart object
  2. create a new layer
  3. file > export > layers to files
  4. after exporting successfully you could then delete the file with the blank layer leaving you with basically your entire project

if you meant saving as exporting the project as an image, you can choose file > export > quick export as png. you can also change the format to svg, gif, and jpg on export preferences.

Ugh... So there's no real fix to this? I can't believe I wasted so much time without even f***ing saving.

What do I do now? I did the export as layers thing and now my photoshop is freaking out. It keeps emptying my layers list and re-populating it. I don't know what the hell it's doing. Did I just lose all of my work...?

EDIT: Yup. I lost all of my work. It was really nice too and now it's all gone. If any of you can find a better version of photoshop for linux please let me know. I'll have to keep relying on W*ndows virtual machines for now.

God I'm so f###ing stupid. I hope I can recreate it nearly as good as the original. I typically suck hard at graphics stuff AND THE ONE F***ING TIME I MAKE SOMETHING WORTHWHILE this happens... FFS. I hate my life.

edit: just to be clear... the export as layers method provided in the official instructions and in this thread does not always work and should be further addressed. I think the issue may have been too many layers but I have no way to replicate the problem without wasting my own f***ing time like the brainless imbecile I am all over again. Another factoid of potential interest for anyone trying to debug this in the future was that when I peeked at the Photoshop window title via the taskbar it was stuck at a suspicious "66.7%"
