Long press date for popup modal

Hey, was wondering if there was anyway that I could fix this this issue of mine. I was initially going to implement a segue on tap and a modal once the user long pressed the date (all in month view). However, I found that the date range selection was stopping me from doing this.

Is there any possible way I could get the month view setup in a way in which I could long press a day and show a modal on tap segue to a different view?
