display ifAlias or ifDescr in a report #74

On the report data template, I saw there are options like ifalias, ifDescr. Is that possible to use it as a measurand? Like display the ifalias for each of the data.

Hey Mark,

What I meant is to add a string type data source to a report. For example, the ifAlias means the comment of a interface. If I want to show the comment of that interface. I just add a new measurand and put ifAlias on the formula part. So, the report will display all interface comments of each interface. Sort of like the picture below.

So, what you are saying is that under:

We should allow string as a type? We would have to automatically exclude it from calculations or it would error or have a mismatch when grouped if they aren't all the same name.

If that possible to have a string type and then just display the string value without calculation? If we could add a string type at the drop list, and then just display it on each of the data row. It will be very helpful when you have some special comment of a interface and want display it along with the data.

Unfortunately not. It'll be a week or two before some of my time will free up as I'm busy with a big work migration at the moment and have other things lined up in the downtime hours.
