Maybe I’m missing something but although the parenthesis change correctly in size the figures do not:
Especially in headlines with dates that are typeset in all smallcaps it would be nice if the figures would align to the roman. What do you think?

I designed the small caps figures to match small caps settings, not c2sc. Note that even apart from the capitals, the small caps still deviate from the area between baseline and smallcap height, e.g. in /j.sc/, /q.sc/, or punctuation.
That said, perhaps a set of c2sc figures to match your use case above might be useful. Remind me again once I've finished drawing the Black Italics, which will still take a long time...
yes, I did assume this ;-) I will remind you, thank you very much for considering my request at all.
Here is a useful application. Consider a headline in bold with figures (and one condition must be to capitalize everything):
The first line shows "normal" bold text. The second line with all set in all small caps & bold which matches the bold, but the figures and parenthesis did not match. The third line is set in all caps & bold matching the size of all small caps. As you see, the weight doesn’t match at all but the figures and parenthesis.
