Hasgeek Funnel (https://github.com/hasgeek/funnel) is an interesting project built for this purpose.
I think, Instead of a static page, the funnel which can also serve as an archive for speaker notes, PPTs, links, etc, would be a great addition. I've seen implementations of this project work perfectly in various events for quite a few years now.
