Cannot climb long ladders

Expected Behavior

You can use ladders without being reset to the base or top.

Actual Behavior

If trying to climb long ladders (more than 10-15 blocks), the player is always reset to the base (or top if climbing down) of the ladder. If the player stops the descend every few blocks for a few seconds, it is possible to use the ladder as expected.

Steps to Reproduce

Dig a hole to the bottom of the world and place ladders on one wall and try to climb up or down
