It means people who aren't linked to discochat don't see anyone's messages. In fact, everyone's messages should be visible in the default channel if they're not linked, and everyone on the server should see messages in the default channel. It probably means that the architecture has to be fixed as it's a bit of a kludge now. Concerns need separating.
