About This Prize

ConsenSys Labs has always stressed keeping the end-user front and center when building products. To continue to demonstrate our commitment to this design principle as well as celebrate the best UX Web3 has to offer, Labs is thrilled to announce the Best in Show prize.

Projects from the GitCoin Open Communities Virtual Hackathon are eligible to submit for the Best-in-Show Prize.

• Why Design Before Building?

Evaluation Criteria

Submissions will be evaluated based on the following criteria:

• Novelty: How is the problem currently solved in the space? Does this product or component provide a new or improved approach?

• Usability: How easily can users accomplish the desired tasks?

• Implementation: How much time and effort went in to the submission? How thorough is the exploration of the problem and how impressive is the execution and presentation of the solution?

• Accessibility: Can this pattern be used with a screen reader? Does it pass at least WCG 2.0 AA standards for accessibility?

• Communication & Error handling: Does the product or component handle errors? Is there clear, continuous communication to users as they interact with the component or product?

Submission Requirements

Winning Submissions will make the most compelling case for their project with:

• Users Testing + Testimonials

• A prototype (code or no-code)

• Video Demo

Important note: All submissions will be required to supply your full name + address + email.

Prizes

The winning team will receive 7 ETH (estimated around $1,000 at the time of writing) for the winning project.
