<div type="commentary" subtype="frontmatter" xml:space="preserve"><p>Medical recipes. The fragment (14 x 10 cm) preserves on the <emph rend="italics">recto</emph> ends of a column of accounts with sums in <emph rend="italics">drachmae</emph> and the beginnings of 17 lines of a second column containing at least two medical recipes (one seems to be intended as a vaginal suppository with cleansing functions: κολλυρίων σύνθεσις, l. 10; see <listBibl><bibl><ref target="http://papyri.info/biblio/17913">Andorlini 2004</ref></bibl></listBibl>, 152). The tentative restoration of col. II, l. 14 suggests 10 letters are lost on the right; the column is 15 cm wide and the layout is also characterized by an isolated heading (l. 10) and blank spaces at line ends (ll. 2, 10, 12, 17). On the <emph rend="italics">verso</emph> there survive traces of two columns of accounts in which names in the dative are followed by quantities measured in <emph rend="italics">metretae</emph>. Col. II (<emph rend="italics">recto</emph>) is written in a fair-sized, practiced and non-abbreviated cursive hand to be assigned to ca. 270-250 BC.</p></div>
