Your console: Nintendo DSi
Launch Method: TWiLightMenu 15.3.0
Version used: unknown
Game tested/used/applicable: Yu-Gi-Oh 5D's: World Championship 2011 with MD5 F87CE3D6E2C55C872DA4FD5A81A68F19

Expected Behavior: Audio uses the right instruments and notes and the game should run without crashes
Actual Behavior: Crashes during CPU battles and wrong instruments and notes used in audio

Steps to reproduce

For wrong audio:

  • Simply load the game

For game crashes

  1. Load a game save, I can give mine
  2. Start a CPU battle
    If you start first
  3. Place a card
  4. End your turn (Hand icon the right) - Game crashes here with a red bottom screen, the top screen loses its text.
    If you start second
  5. Wait for the CPU do to their move
  6. On your turn draw a card - Game crashes here with a red bottom screen, the top screen loses its text.

To check the nds-bootstrap version, go into TWLMenu++ Settings.
In TWLMenu++, press SELECT, and touch the DS icon.

Is it a cartridge, or a ROM?

It's a ROM running from SD Card. Now trying with another game backup

New ROM with MD5 81346BDD7FD7B4DD73C560CFA740F362. Audio is still wrong but the game it's stable. The crashes may be coming from a bad game dump. I also tried both roms in an emulator and the one in the original post indeed crashes (even if it was way less common). Both roms have perfect audio in an emulator.

Can you upload the nds-bootstrap log?
To enable it, go to Games/Apps settings in TWLMenu++ Settings, then enable Logging. After that, launch the game again, wait for it to start, then turn the DSi off and upload NDSBTSRP.LOG

I followed your steps and didn't have any problems (v0.35.1, DSi), however my ROM was manually AP patched a while ago. Maybe it's an AP issue?

@SleepyLark Did you use a DSiWare exploit to launch TWLMenu++?

Nope, launched it through Unlaunch/HiyaCFW

NDSBTSRP.LOG

Maybe related or maybe not, but also the DSi music has wrong notes while being in TWiLightMenu
