To use dune computing, you must be on the DUNE Collaboration member list. If you are not, your institution's Institutional Board representative must inform Maxine Hronek (maxine@fnal.gov) that you are joining DUNE.
Step 2: accounts At FNAL
If you have a valid FNAL computing account but not on DUNE yet (say you have access to another experiment's resources), you can ask for a DUNE-specific account using the Service Now Computing Account Request form.
[Fun first step. If you do not yet have an ORCID, establish your scientific identity at: https://orcid.org by setting up an ID. We also use this to ID you for papers so very useful. ]
This is a multi-step process that takes several days (up to 4 weeks).
If you have a valid CERN account and access to CERN machines, you can get started using DUNE software. See the most recent tutorial for more instructions.

At FNAL
If you have a valid FNAL computing account but not on DUNE yet (say you have access to another experiment's resources), you can ask for a DUNE-specific account using the Service Now Computing Account Request form.
If you do not have any FNAL accounts yet you need to obtain a Fermilab User Account. More info: https://get-connected.fnal.gov/users/access/

You and supervisor first ask for you to get a remote Fermilab ID using https://get-connected.fnal.gov/users/access/
You fill out a FermiWorks form with personal information
You then receive a Services account. This allows you to access documentation and the VPN (Virtual Private Network)
You can then apply for accounts on the Fermilab Unix systems Service Now Computing Account Request form.
