This course provides an introduction to the common programming languages used by data scientists. It also provides a foundational knowledge of tools such as Jupyter Notebooks, Watson Studio, and GitHub, which are used throughout the following courses.
- Data Scientist's Toolkit (e.g. the languages of Data Science (Python, R, SQL))
- Open Source Tools (e.g. Jupyter Notebook, JupyterLab, R Studio IDE, Github)
- IBM Tools for Data Science
- Introduction to the languages, tools, and data used by data scientists, including IBM tools focused on data science.
- Knowledge of the features of Jupyter Notebook and RStudio IDE that make them popular for data science projects.
- Creation and management/version control of source code for data science in GitHub.
- Understanding of how IBM Watson Studio and other IBM data science tools can be used by data scientists.
