According to Datadog support and the datadog-trace-agent README the Trace Agent is bundled with the standard Datadog Agent. This doesn't seem to be the case with the installation from source, though.

  1. If this fact is true it should be mentioned clearly in the documentation and the repository README.
  2. It would be nice if the installation of the trace agent were triggered in the source installation, too, or if a warning or suggestion would be printed, at least.
