I've extracted these commits from the
feature/profilingbranch because they are entirely independent of profiling, so we can review them separately and have them inmasterto reduce the overall diff with that branch.Hopefully once we get to the point where
feature/profilingwill be ready to be merged intomaster, it'll contain only profiling-related changes, increasing our confidence in such a big code dump :)
