It would be useful to also have the option to convert vector information when taking a vertical slice (section plot). See the figure below as an example of an application for this functionality. Along this transect in the Nieuwe Waterweg we take the along-channel currents to visualize current stratification. I can imagine that this functionality will also be useful for sediment transport or other vector output on 3D map files.

This would require to take into account the orientation/angle of the polyline and convert the x- and y-components of the data variable to a perpendicular and parallel component. The latter can be done by xugrid, but can also be done afterwards, as long as the polyline orientation in each cell is available.
