Description:

We’re looking for a DevOps engineer who can take our team to the next level. Our DevOps Engineer role will be responsible for server setup, maintenance and automation for our clients Asia-Pacific facing business. You will be supporting a large, distributed online gaming application with tens of thousands of players world-wide.

Our client is a multi-national publicly traded gaming company. They run live platforms for Desktop and Mobile which involve real-time streaming video.

This role will be one of the first of a larger team, and will be instrumental in setting up tools, processes and documentation for the group in the future.

Our ideal candidate has a good base of technical skills and is able to speak and write at a conversational level in both Mandarin Chinese and English. He or she is Entrepreneurial and is excited to get in on the ground level of a new and exciting software business.

Key Responsibilities:

Work with local team and our client in Europe to automate processes, releases and integrate new customers quickly and effectively.

Maintain, monitor and develop infrastructure, tools and processes so we can scale to more clients faster.

Technical Skills required:

• Strong background in Linux / Unix Administration
• Experience building and administering LAMP or distributed web applications, and related open-source software.
• Experience with commercial CDN’s and monitoring technologies.
• Able to automate processes and workflows via shell, python, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience with build and release automation.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure like AWS, Rackspace, or Azure is preferred.
• Experience with virtualize architecture, like docker, kernel virtual machine or kubernetes.
• Experience with config automation like Ansible, Puppet, Vagrant is preferred.
• Experience with load balance like HAProxy, lvs, nginx.
• Experience with Varnish or similar reverse-proxy software is preferred.
• Experience with RTMP or HLS video is preferred.

Soft Skills required:

• Communication skill in both English and Chinese.
• Problem-solving skills. Able to understand requirements and constraints from both sides of integration.
• Ambition. There will be many opportunities to improve this process and expand the role and team in the coming months. We want somebody who is excited to build a business with us.

Salary range:

75K above per month (14 months per year)
Salary will depend on the capability of the candidate, and it is negotiable.
