There's an outdated yml and requirements.txt in the installation directory that is a hangup from the days when we were limited to python 3.6, owing to the developers of pydensecrf not updating their package or agreeing to merge our PR ...

Since then, a conda-forge package of pydensecrf has been made that is compatible with python > 3.6

Now, we run with a tried and tested python 3.8 solution, so the yml seems unnecessary. It should either be updated or scrapped in favour of the recipe currently listed on the README

Hi @dbuscombe-usgs - do you know if this is compatible with Mac OS M1? - I've tried install instructions for python 3.8 but pydensecrf from conda-forge doesn't seem to work ( PackagesNotFoundError error)

Hi @christopherowers - we have some documented issues using doodler on an M1 b/c of pydensecrf (#45). The plan right now is to build an experimental branch sometime in the new year that does not rely on pydensecrf (#47 )... for now, we just recommend using Linux, Windows, or a mac with non-Apple silicon. Please chime in if i missed anything @dbuscombe-usgs ...
