Data Challenge #125

I think my main challenge will be to have a good oversite of my samples, as there will be many. How to name them when collecting fractions of a sample for different actions. How to name all these and how to keep it structured, in order to easily find a sample corresponding to a certain experiment. |

Currently my main challenge is that I don't take enough time to properly write/store my data. I do have my data stored in documents but don't have a clear overview of what data is stored where. Ideally I would like to schedule time in my calendar to process data. In addition I would like to have a clear way in which I always store my data (e.g. when an experiment is finished I would like to have a template which I fill in with all the data/results/protocols). |

I think my main challenge right now is keeping all the experimental data organized properly. My experimental data consists of DICOMs and MRI protocols, and I usually do 1-2 rounds of experiments a week so I acquire a lot of data. So far I haven't figured out an organization system that allows me to revisit the data and easily deduce what exactly I did in a specific round of experiments and it takes me a really long time to do it. I would like to have a well-organized data storage which clearly indicates what is where. |

My main challenge is that I have different types of data (excel, word, pictures), but I don't have a proper way to store and organize them. Also, I didn't have an organized and secure way to back up and synchronize my data. I'd like to work on my local copy of data, but I also want it to synchronize online as a backup. For writing, it would be better to store historical changes so I can go back to different versions. |

I'm a tiny bit chaotic. So any organization tricks can be handy. |

My main challenge is simply that up until now I did not need a plan to manage huge amount of data. The lack of this habit makes it difficult for me to dedicate enough time to data management. |

My biggest challenge is the fact that up untill now I have had to work with wet lab experiments hence I had a system of data management for that but now I am working with extremely large simulations and it is difficult to understand good data management practices for this case. |

Process the data in an organised and understandable way. |

Having a clear overview of the process from sample fab/preparation until the end of the data analysis + publication. There are many steps in between and especially handling the code for measurements and analysis (of which everyone in the group has a preferred version) is quite a challenge. |

For me, I think my main difficulty is to find a way in which I can store my data in order for me to be able to access it, while making it easily accessible when I want to use the data in a publication. I really hope I can have some handles on that as well during this course |

The main challenge regarding data management in my project is keeping a clear and detailed outline of my calculations. |

My main challenge is to keep track of data and to be able to maintain a clear connection between experiments. Another thing is that I am struggling with finding a way to transfer a large amount of data from one workstation to another, which are not connected to the network, in a time-efficient way. |

The biggest challenge for me is to store data in an organized manner, even under the pressure of deadlines. While the best way to do that is to have folders and sub-folders, I often need to quickly access a very specific file, and going through multiple folders can slow things down. I try to get around this by having descriptive names containing keywords that can help me find them through the search engine even if I do not remember the exact name. |

The biggest challenge for me would be backing up my data regularly at different places. I need to have a periodic schedule to do so. I often forget it but now I am trying to do it regularly. |

My main challenge is to keep all my data (literature articles, experimental, computational) organized in a way that I can find and trace back any document easily. This is tricky because I have many different types of files and I will likely produce a lot of data. |
