@Eugeny

The Schema is fantasy. But they have the same keywords to be colorful. Can you have something like dictionary to choose then have different keywords with different color pattern. for example, Connected as green, Stop as red, etc.

Thanks.

I would really love such a feature my self. It's one thing I miss from MobaXterm.

I too, miss this feature from MobaXterm.

Would love to have this feature, this is the only reason why I still have to use Mobaxterm instead of tabby, analyzing logs is so much easier with syntax highlight! 😥

I don't imagine anyone is working on this. I've been poking around in the program files. in c:/USER/AppData/Local/Programs/Tabby/Resources/buildin-plugins/tabby-ssh/node-modules
there are 3 scripts by Charlie Robbins. Cliff, Eyes, and Winston that might help. There is another script by Marak Squires called colors that might be helpful also. If anyone here with a bit more experience would care to find a solution.

Not sure why this idea keeps getting shut down. It would be a prominent feature I think.

@DanRoses where is it getting shut down?

@Eugeny lack of a better word the topic falls through the cracks. If the rest of us in this thread tried together we might could find a solution in the scripts mentioned above. But it gets forgotten.

It's currently blocked on xtermjs/xterm.js#1852 as there's no way to add custom highlighting to xterm.js short of hacking the session output to colorize it manually. I'm happy to support it in Tabby once it lands, but my own expertise isn't enough to work on that part of xterm.js.

This would be the last thing left to make this a SecureCRT alternative that's FOSS which is the first time I've ever seen a SecureCRT competitor. How can we get this added?

Hi,
Firstly, thanks for bringing such a beautiful tool, but I will make a suggestion:custom keyword highlighting, like the Xshell's highlight set.

+1 for this feature. I've moved from MobaXTerm to Tabby and this is the only feature that I can't find a replacement for.
Everything else is spot on.

Can we hack the xterm.js now? I see that issue has been closed as resolved.

There is a javascript https://github.com/highlightjs/highlight.js project. Maybe there is a chance to adapt it as a plugin in elecrton-based application?

Since ChromaTerm only support this feature by connecting ssh from local path. I still look forward for this feature in tabby!

Hello! As many asked to color output syntax, there is already a pypi plugin that does exactly what they say: https://github.com/hSaria/ChromaTerm Is there any way to integrate it? I know dev's ...

@0n11san , I just try ct ssh user@host directly in tabby like other terminals. Not find a way to integrate it in tabby's profile. And that's just what i expect.

The only thing that is forcing me to use moba is syntax highlights not being supported by tabby :(

can someone please articulate the problem because of which Tabby is not able to do syntax highlighting ?

I would love to see this feature implemented too.
For now I am using https://github.com/hSaria/ChromaTerm (archived due to no maintainer but still works).
I use tmux on all my machines so i just aliased tmux with ct tmux and then all the outputs in my tmux session are highlighted within Tabby.

This is good thanks for replying :) really appreciate the time...
however it still does not solve the problem 100%

Say if I ssh into some vm and open some log from tabby its not highlighting the errors like moba does!

eugenov commented Dec 6, 2023

@Harshad18 , that's not true, It highlights everything through ssh also. You'd better check your regexp in highlight settings.
