It takes 5+ minutes to read in the PSRC files only to find out that there is an issue with pathweights. Any reason it takes so long?

I find this SUPER annoying too... I think the time is spent in the transitfeed library so the only way to deal with it would be to fix it on a fork... Or open an issue there.

We could make a forked version that depends on pandas, which I'd understand if they don't want theirs to have that dependency, and it might make it fast.

Google [ aka Brian ] doesn't look like he's worked on it in a year so I don't think there is much hope in getting them to anytime soon. There are quite a few outstanding pull requests that haven't been addressed. My take is that this would be a "nice to have if we have time someday" and that if we do it, we should submit a pull request...but not hold our breath for anyone else to do it.
