[Problem] STEP import colors / material properties not in appearance settings

Problem description

When a STEP file is imported, the different materials and appearences are displayed correctly in the 3D viewport.
The problem is when trying to change the face color or other material properties of the imported bodies via the Appearence dialog. There, always the default material with the default colors is present. So when e.g. trying to chance the line color or specular color, the face colors will automatically resetted to the default material color.
Also, when the color picker is opened for the shape color and is cancelled, the default color is selected for the part.
