Basically this request is to make REAL assemblies possible AND to make it possible to manage large scale corporations files with a database/existing PDM-system.

Heads-up Pauvres_honteux can you be more mindful about categorizing the tickets you open. It saves bug triagers a lot of time.

there was basically no consensus to support this request in the forum discussion, should this issue be kept? Most people (including an assembly workbench dev) opposed the idea of separate file extensions.

As there is no action that can be taken at this time, I'm closing this. Of course discussion can continue on the forums, and if a consensus in favor is ever reached we can open a new request with that information.
