cannot copy text with Mac hotkey: CMD+C not working #986
Comments
Hi, so as this article suggests, this is intended behavior fro MacOS. Some rework of the app's menu is required to fix that and make it work on the other platforms as well. Unfortunately neither Preston nor me own a OS X based device, so this is rather difficult to test for us |
I can test! :) |
'cmd+c' turns subtitles on/off if avaible. (macOS Big Sur) A simple workaround is to set a keyboard shortcut 'copy' in System Preferences for the FreeTube-Application. This can be 'ctr+c' or something else. Not all shortcut configurations work but 'ctr+c' does. (f.e. 'cmd+c' doesn't work as mentioned; 'cmd+p' 'cmd+o' don't work because they change playback speed, ...) |
@PikachuEXE do you know if this is still an issue with MacOS? |
This is only an issue when viewing a video as Cmd+C toggles subtitles |

Please test #3027 if possible |
Behavior of the program
On Mac is not possible to copy text (titles, description, comments...) with CMD+C (neither with CTRL+C).
You have to use right click + select copy, that's the only working way.
No idea about other OS.
Expected behavior
Ability to copy through the common hotkey CMD+C.
To Reproduce
