The patch shouldn't be applied by the user because the game executable is signed, Blizzard/GOG should fix it.

All users that bought Warcraft II on battle.net ended up with the same CD-Key set in the registry. Not sure if this is a bug or intentional. Apparently the server was patched to allow multiple users to connect with the same key at the same time, so I'm assuming this is not a bug. The patch that was applied to the server seems to be incomplete, it's causing users to end up being muted or fail to connect (Wrong password) occasionally (Tested and confirmed by changing the CD-Key to a different one).
Blizzard needs to fix this issue, nothing we (the players) can do about it.

The server sends you into a random chat channel making it impossible to meet and help newer players with their setup (e.g. port forwarding). We need a server-side update here, all users should be sent to the same chat channel.
