I suggest adding commands to revert the UpdateSuppressor (eg: /carpet-fixes updateSuppressorDeFix true). Unfortunately Mojang "fixed" it. If this can be done on 19.3 without adding to existing mods, please explain how to do it.

I think you mean
reintroduceInstantBlockUpdates?
I believe this is what you want for the old suppressor designs.

also I do believe a new form of update suppression is possible and that FX is releasing a video about it.
