One thought I had is that we could easily create a cap_restart file when you run remap_restarts.py. I mean, you tell it what day and time you are remapping, so it's simple enough to output a file with yyyymmdd hhmmss for the user.

Sounds smart to me, but @sdrabenh might be good to ask. Would this be useful to you?
