Proactively ensuring the integrity and privacy of our communications is an increasingly important issue. HTTPS would go a long way toward ensuring that, at least in transit, we can be relatively certain that the information we access (and the data we pass back and forth) will remain private. Certainly, there is far more still to be done, but this would be an incredible leap forward.
