The a11y team specialist will create a repository of training materials as indicated by OMB's 508 guidance and best practices:

Educate

  • Require onboarding and annual Section 508 awareness training for employees and contractors
  • Identify and train all individuals responsible for ensuring the accessibility of applications in the technology portfolio (benefits finder in this case), and the publication of electronic content
  • Create training sessions, videos, documents, etc. for each program area on the team (design, dev, PM, etc.)
  • Increase the cadre of certified testers and subject matter experts within product teams (Trusted Tester is upgrading to a new system; in 2024 Angelina can work on obtaining her certification)
  • conferences, webinars, training and collaboration
  • Establish procedures for filling and processing of Section 508 complaints and clearly communicate those procedures internally and externally
