Currently we use Prose.io to manage the user interface, but the integration doesn't provide the most seamless user experience. There are other ideas for Prose.io improvements here, but we could also consider evalutating alternatives to Prose.io including projects like jkan.io or ways to integrate data/metadata editing UI directly into the Jekyll website frontend (but still using GitHub authentication)

@philipashlock @dougmet Just calling your attention to a note at timwis/jkan#141. Some more possible projects to consider: Octopub and DataDeck.
