Users will want to know where attributes and values are coming from. Indicate this in some visual way (colour coding, mini icon, italicising, etc)

Should we make this about full debugging, to know which nodes modify each attribute?

No, this one can stay as-is. Which location an attribute is inherited from, and which node created that attribute value are two different things. The latter should be a ticket of its own.
