well, whatever was in today's package updates seems to have made it work. the touchpad is now working after the update and a reboot. This is default 4.4.6 kernel, btw.

There haven't been any GalliumOS packages updated since the 2.0beta1 release. Would you mind posting your /var/log/apt/history.log file so we can look for clues in upstream packages?

You can do this:

cat /var/log/apt/history.log | pastebinit

weird. i dont see any correlation. So, now i have no idea why it works now when it didnt before.
