Index Continously: false - doesn't work

Some files in our rather large project take quite some time to get re indexed. The current file with about 400 lines takes 2500ms to 4300ms for indexing.
So I chose to disable "Index continuously" to speed things up. Problem is, it still keeps indexing even though I didn't save my file.

Related to this problem I got a lot of message of indexing the file.
It is a problem because I can't see the source code because of the message of indexing.
