I don't even know where to start here. I'm surprised no one caught this.

Anyway, fresh Minecraft 1.8 install, Forge v11.14.3.1450, and BiomesOPlenty v3.0.0.1365. I start Minecraft, and don't even get to the title screen before it crashes. There are no other mods, no worlds that might me causing a glitch. As a matter of fact, I had just deleted everything and reinstalled it. Yet somehow, I'm the first one to notice it crash.

I leave this problem in your capable hands.

Here's the log:

---- Minecraft Crash Report ----

Ah, I see. So the 'recommended' version of minecraft forge is, as you say, 'outdated.' I'm supposed to use the 'latest' version. See, I shied away from that because I assumed 'latest' meant not fully tested yet, and likely not as stable, mainly because that is the common convention.
