Meeting notices

Antitrust Policy

Linux Foundation meetings involve participation by industry competitors, and it is the intention of the Linux Foundation to conduct all of its activities in accordance with applicable antitrust and competition laws. It is therefore extremely important that attendees adhere to meeting agendas, and be aware of, and not participate in, any activities that are prohibited under applicable US state, federal or foreign antitrust and competition laws.

Examples of types of actions that are prohibited at Linux Foundation meetings and in connection with Linux Foundation activities are described in the Linux Foundation Antitrust Policy available at http://www.linuxfoundation.org/antitrust-policy. If you have questions about these matters, please contact your company counsel, or if you are a member of the Linux Foundation, feel free to contact Andrew Updegrove of the firm of Gesmer Updegrove LLP, which provides legal counsel to the Linux Foundation.

Recordings

GSF project meetings may be recorded for use solely by the GSF team for administration purposes. In very limited instances, and with explicit approval, recordings may be made more widely available. Please review the Linux Foundation privacy policy

Meeting Notes

OKRS

  • Daniel has an internal Principles & Patterns WG who would like to contribute back to the GSF
  • Namrata reminded everyone about the Decarb event engagement kit

ClimateHack 2023 (co-organised by UCL's AI Society)

  • University College London co-organising climate hack event
  • Looking for sponsorship & partnerhsips
    • Ideally £10-15k per sponsor to cover accommodation, travel & prizes
    • Partner to act as judges, promote the event and provide other logistical support
  • Adam will follow-up with the CWG next week and get back to Szymon, Andrea & Jeremy
    • Explore potential alignment with IEF

Green Software Maturity Matrix

  • First draft based on contributions across the broader community
  • @aecurrie would like to make a GSF project. Challenge is continuing to develop with non-GSF member contributions
    • Pindy echos Anne's request to find a solution to allow external contribution
    • Chris Lloyd-James SC proposal in progress to broaden contributors to Champions
    • Overarching issue will be raised at the next SC meeting (not the one tomorrow, but the next one)

Green-Software-Foundation/standards-wg#77

  • Pindy's proposal
  • Based on https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/62992856-sustainable-it-playbook-for-technology-leaders
  • Discussion on it living under the Standards WG connected to SCI
  • Should this be merged with Anne’s project?
    • Pindy: “I think there is a cross over between the work that Anne and I are doing. I would be more than happy to trial the SCI as part of my decision making framework, and report updates in the standards WG. But have the project sitting in the community WG. This is an example of a project that spans a number of WG’s”
    • Pindy: "As I mentioned there are synergies between the two projects and there are also differences too. Maybe we run them as two separate and have a link between Anne and I.”
    • Pindy: “I can report into standards as the tools and data is a key component…but we keep in sync. Maybe we have a standard agenda item in this call to discuss updates. And we can have separate calls to sync up

Verified Facts

  • Facts which link to a research paper - Facts not Fiction
  • Proposal that the GSP provide a list of trusted facts that people can reference
  • No conclusions, further discussion requried
