Make adorner persist when dragged outside the WPF application

If i drag an element outside of the window of my WPF app, the adorner disappears. I've noticed some other apps are capable of maintaining the adorner.

Possible enhancement? This is relevant when you are dragging items between windows.

This sounds useful, don't remember if I coded it like this or if it is a limitation of WPF.
