dexBuilderDebug
fails starting from ProGuard 7.1.0: Unexpected scopes found in folder
#196

Could anyone look at this? We are still stuck on this. |
This still happens with AGP 7.1.3 and ProGuard 7.2.1. I have now switched back to R8 given that this makes it impossible for me to use the ProGuard AGP plugin instead. With all of the changes I have made since, R8 now works for me. The main reason I originally looked at the new ProGuard AGP plugin was to see whether this would fix my issue. The warnings and note outputs ProGuard gave me have helped tremendously in figuring out what was going wrong. Therefore, I would love to keep using the ProGuard plugin if possible, so this issue is still relevant to me. |
Hi @Whathecode ! Thanks for the report, hopefully we can get to the bottom of the issue so you can use ProGuard again! Are you able to provide a sample project that reproduces this issue? |
This also happens in the Now in Android sample. After applying workarounds #266 and #267 the error occurs:
|
I'm trying to switch from the integrated ProGuard plugin with AGP to the separate Proguard plugin. But, when doing so I get an obscure error I can't find much information on, other than the location from where it is thrown:
This happens for ProGuard 7.1.0 up to 7.2.0-beta2.
I've enabled ProGuard in debug mode since I'm trying to figure out an issue I ran into with obfuscation in ProGuard with AGP 7.1.0-beta01—the reason I'm upgrading. Regardless, I've since also tested in release and the same error occurs.
