Hi @GunshipPenguin

I found this app , this one and this one on Google Play Store. This guys just took the source code, added some ads and put it on the Google Play Store...

As you are the owner of the source code, feel free to open a request to google here for each one, if it's your wish ;)

Don't forget to tell Google that:

  • The app is licensed under GPL3 and this guy is violating it by distributing the app without the source code;
  • He is falsely claiming he made the app;
  • Also tell them that this guy has done the same thing already with other apps. Probably this is worth mentioning. (I watch him)

Hi There,

As much as I don't like to see people copy the source of Open Flood, add ads and then upload it to Google Play, Open Flood is licensed under the MIT license, not the GPL, and as such, inclusion of source code for derivative works is not required.

Despite this, I believe the apps you posted may be violating the terms of the MIT license as they do not include the MIT copyright header anywhere in the description on Google Play. This one mentions that it licensed under the MIT license, but does not include the original header Here.

IANAL, but I believe that this constitutes an infringement of the MIT license.

I will look into this further and make a report with Google if I'm sure that this is a violation of the MIT license.

Thanks for the heads up.

Oops sorry, your app is MIT licensed, that's right...

Do not hesitate to make the report with Google
