I'd been using this for a while on a small edge computer, but the latest version has stopped working. When I install through palette manager it says all the nodes were added, but when I try to use them it says they aren't there. I've also tried installing through the console with the same results.

Maybe the solution of your problem is the same as mine, try to use this fork: https://github.com/MrTreffnix601/node-red-contrib-s7comm

I tried installing s7comm on my Windows as well as on a ubuntu VM. No Errors.
Can you switch on the logs of the node (within config.json) restart Node-RED and post the logs?

I tried an update and also a completely new installation - both worked in my environment.
It seams the fix from @MrTreffnix601 is a downgrade to an older node with the actual version number?
I would try something different, because it seams you made an update?
Deinstall/delete the node completely from your system and see if Node-RED starts in a normal way. Than install the s7comm node again.
If it does not work, maybe you can provide the install log and additionl information about your system?

As mentioned in #5 I tested again. It does not work with node.js v6.12.3, but it works with node.js v8.12.0 (no other versions between these two tested).
Not yet sure, what the trigger is, but we are using quite new node.js and Node-RED version, therefore we did not recognize this behavior in our environment.

Hi konradheidrich ,
i am beginner, i dont know why, but it seems Siemens IOT 2040 can only install with nodejs 6.12.3
i try to update it but it say "package nodejs (6.12.3-r1.8) installed in root is up to date."
if i cannot upgrade, i will have issue with Nodes missing when i using node-red-contrib-s7comm version 1.1.6.

compromise where, is there any method i can down grade back to use node-red-contrib-s7comm version 1.1.3???

hope you can help...
