There are legacy uses of HOMEBREW_PREFIX in formulae that should be opt_* instead; we should write a guideline on when PREFIX should be used and them update formulae to match the guideline.

@adamv Yeh, it's on my TODO list to try and start getting those API docs on the go. Will probably not be until next month though, realistically.
