This used to work fine. Also tried with --env=std and on a clean slate (homebrew installed in an empty /usr/local/) with the same results.

Thank you for the help.

Can you compile other stuff? These syntax errors in system headers look bad.

I was getting similar errors and got it to build using brew install grass --use-llvm. See issue #14693.

YES, that did it! Thank you so much. I think I saw the --use-llvm switch before, but forgot about it. May be this tip could be added to the troubleshooting page? I looked around quite a lot before opening my ticket. Issue #14693 also never showed up in the brew output in contrast to many other occasions when builds fail. I googled the error messages a fair bit but had no luck.

Best and again, thank you for your help, much appreciated!

Thank you for the reply, Jack! Yes, everything else I tried does compile. Following the hint from another member, I had success using:

brew install grass --use-llvm

Thank you for the help and happy brewing,

Martin
