πŸš€ Feature

New users should be able to bulk-invite friends as part of the sign up process.

User Problem

Being the first (of a group of friends / speaker of a language) on a social network is not much fun – so it should be easy to invite people you know.

Hopefully, this will also help us to expand internationally.

Implementation

Add a step to the registration process where new users can add a list of email addresses to send invitations to and (or?) provide an invite link that is shareable on social media and in group chats.

Ideally, all people signing up through this invitation email or link should be automatically following the inviter and vice versa – @roschaefer is this something that could be done with the setup of the invite link we already have in the backend?

For inspiration see https://wt.social/

Design & Layout

Probably a new page with a card component that holds the form (see the existing registration page for reference):

We could display the link on top and start with 3 (or 5?) empty input fields to enter email addresses, then have a button to add more or automatically add more when the user starts typing in the last empty field.

Validation

See if invitation emails are sent through this feature and/or if people sign up via personalized sign-up links.

Additional context

This idea came up in a chat with @mattwr18 @roschaefer and @Tirokk when thinking about how we could make the network more attractive for non-German speaking users.
