💬 Question

Convert wrongly as english labeled posts into as german labeled ones?

Problem:

  • If you filter for english language you find a lot of posts in german language.
  • This makes it easier to go into english countries and get donations …

Possibility:

  • If we have a list of all the wrong labeled post ids we could make a database manipulation script to change them all in one stroke.

Possibility option 1 (best in my eyes):

  • Probably best is the devs generate a list of all the posts labeled as english …
    • … because most of them are wrong labeled!
  • Contributors can remove all the ids which are really english.
    • They make a right click on the post and copy the link or lookup the ids in the browsers address field!?

Possibility option 2:

  • If a contributor can make a list of all the wrong labeled post ids …
  • Contributors can make a right click on the post and copy the link or lookup the ids in the browsers address field!?

Other possibilities:

  • Ideas?

I fear this is something we will indeed have to fix manually – so the idea of creating a list and then running a script is probably the best we can do! Before we get anyone started on this let's define the exact format so we can do this with the least possible effort (for both the contributor collecting the data and the developer writing the script).

I guess the first step would be to filter by language EN, then make a list of the posts that are not written in English and note the language of the post if it is not German?

Is there anything on the index page we could use to identify the post, e.g. could we just right click and copy link address or would we have to open each post individually to get just the id from the address bar?

Yes, I agree with you in most points @alina-beck !

I’ve tested and one can make a right click and copy the URL. ✨
Top idea !!!

But after rethinking I changed my mind and we should do it the other way around. Because the most posts are wrong labeled …
See possibility option 1 in the description. ☝🏼

Could we ask the community to do this? If we provide a list of URLs to the posts with English language, the users of HC could easily try each link and remove it from the list if it is in English, then send the corrected list back to us.
